We have all heard of the case of a 15-month-old Oregon City girl who died of lack of basic medical treatment. What you might not know is that the law that the law that makes this faith based murder illegal was only passed in 1999. The group "Followers of Christ" in Oregon have been responsible for the deaths of over 55 kids due to medical neglect on very simple treatable illnesses. Before the 1999 law change the law said that the parents are not responsible for medical neglect when they provide medical treatment through prayer alone. None of these parents faced prosecution by the Oregon DA.
Today, there are still over 30 states with laws that say prayer = medical treatment. So, all you have to do is feed your child some poison from under your sink. At this point very basic and simple medical treatments could save your kid. But according to over 30 states that medical treatment is equal to dropping down on your knees and praying to god.

"So?" would indicate that the message was seemingly irrelevant, uninteresting, or inconsequential. A post about religious based laws in a "Religion General Discussion" section are certainly not irrelevant. The message of the post reflects the content of it and it was interesting enough to get you to read. The death of 55 people and the open president for more killing might be inconsequential to you but certainly not to me. I think "So?" in this case translates to "I'm being a troll."

this is his whole purpose here.
he likes trying to start fights.
my advice is to ignore him.
arguing back is exactly what he wants. don't take the bait.
anyway with regards to the children, I think that neglect should be a criminal act, and allowing your child to die, should be seen as murder. |

I'd again like to point out that HBA is wholly ignorant of what my "purpose" is here, thus, his comments hold no validity whatsoever. He's baiting me while implying that I myself am giving out bait. |

Perhaps some one needs to send in the results of the expirements done (by a Christian organization, no less!) mentioned in the God Dellusion, that showed that if anything, prayer leads to people getting worse, not better.
However, with Christian logic, they will just say, "Oh, well, you cant like...test him, you know? Its just something you like...do...", and all that bull.

Since we are assuming here, I would assume "So?" would indicate that you should expand on your post giving it a proper conclusion, clearly stating your points, instead of a poorly written rant.
Conversely, you can just be a jackass and pretend that you hold the knowledge to clearly state what was in my head at the time of making that comment, blowing a one world comment out of proportion, and starting some needless drama, then calling me a troll after your actions just defined you as one.
Pick which ever statement you want to reply to. |
