bahahahaha. LAWLY LULZ. I was actually making fun of HBA and his country music. He is a deaf guy with hearing aids that was listening to this guy and made fun of him... obviously hearing his music. I'm not totally deaf. imagine it more like a radio with the volume turned down. you can still hear it.
I can with my hearing aids on, hear as well as a normal person can.

Also, you need to think about the voice in the context of the song. For example, was Lester Flatt really a good singer? Of course not. Now, can you imagine someone else singing "Salty Dog Blues"? Clearly no.

I actually like his later stuff where his voice isn't as "good" more than his earlier stuff.
