Probably no one will remember, but on the old IG forums I took a public oath against verbal abuse. (and also poisonous rhetoric)
After a couple months of restraining myself I began to wonder why. Even if you are the nicest person in the universe, people will still:
1- Be subtly condescending when they disagree with you.
2- Be passively aggressive, even when they profess to agree with you.
3- Verbally abuse you when they run out of options.
With the transition to the new forums, I decided to allow myself the occasional "fuck you cock-smoker", and such.

Its ironic this topic came up yesterday. The last bumper sticker I saw before I got home last night said "FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING FUCK. I immediately thought of this place. I am not sure if thats good or bad.
The other bumper sticker on the same car, said "Practice safe sex, go FUCK yourself". I am sure the kid is an atheist.

Hey, I live up to that second bumper sticker all the tim...uh...nvm...
Anyways though, I find it awfully retarded that any one would get mad over a four letter word containing the lets f, u, c and k. Its a bunch of letters put in a combanation to make a sound that has the accepted meaning of a sexual act, or just a fucking insult. Get over it, the only reason it even MEANS anything is that you choose to let it mean something. But to each his own, I guess....

So yes...on a forum "words are all we have". But whose words? People who you'll never meet who know nothing about you. Once you stop trying to "win", you'll see how little it matters.
