even we were on a gold standard, the government would have a tendency to mismanage our tax dollars. they don't spend money based on careful thought of what the best way to spend it is, but based on what is best politically to favor whatever interest group or voting bloc is bribing them with votes and support.
anyway, I was just saying, yeah ron's gonna be pissed, and he should be. |

That honestly is akin to explaining evolution to a creationist, being careful to point out that evolution does not say we came from monkeys, and the creationist blurts out "Since evolution says we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?"

Yes, but there's less of one when they can't print money whenever it suits them. They're at least bound by that.

Lets say your a person who is constantly trying to end abortions... you vote to make abortion illegal all the time... than you turn around and get an abortion. Just because they are available...

You can't be EARMARKED for an abortion though. It doesn't work that way. (at least not outside of China)
If it did, the total number of abortions would be predetermined/already aborted (somehow) even though who specifically gets the abortions at the end of the process is not necessarily known, just a question of earmarking at the moment.
IOW, all of these abortions have already happend. Even if your against abortion, you would be derelict in your duty as an elected *Representative*, if you didn't make sure that your constituents got there "fair share". You might not personally agree with it, but the people who voted for you want there abortions, the federal government took all these abortions away from them in the first place, your constituents want them back, and your the only one who can make sure they get them. If you don't, some one else is gonna get them, and then you didn't do your job.

It's been like that for a very long time: tax the people to make war, so that the rich who make the weapons and supply the state make money. You are financing the lifestyle of rich people with your hard-earned money. Well, it's good to know some people are waking up, but not enough of them... |

The "repubs" stand up and applaud only because a republican president says it. If a democrat president had been saying it, only the "dems" would have stood up and applauded. It had nothing to do with what was being said. Dems and repubs are different puppets who actually believe they are different, when in essence, they are controlled by the same puppet master.
