Matthew 28:19-20; 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 22:37-40; 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

mainly doing those through sports (camps, clinics, leagues), plus hopefully sometime in my life get married, lol that seems to be the hardest, and have a family. i'll end up having a job that pays the bills while doing those.

and i do understand that many of you were christians, that's why i asked the first set of questions posted about 2-3 weeks ago.

what do you intend to achieve in life? (if i may ask)

guitar hero 3 anyone? i finally beat freakin lou the last boss this week.

The greatest reason for atheism is reading the bible.

I asked "your" goals, not the goals of the xian cult.

The goals posted scream "Proselytization", and are not your goals, but your cult's goals.

If you had answered my first set thanks, here's another set.

My answer to the first set of questions was the best youth group suggestion EVAR, but I'll answer these anyway...

a. How do you describe your religious background and church involvement if any?

Mother who went to Catholic Church, but watched fundie TV (PTL, Kenneth Copeland, Jimmy Swaggert, 700 Club, and so on) and listened exclusively to Christian music (Debbie Boone, Amy Grant, and her favorite, Michael Card) 11 months a year (she listened to slightly more mainstream Christmas music, like Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby). Father who was an deist-leaning agnostic. Almost needless to say, they got divorced when I was five, I lived with my mother, and I believed unquestioningly until I was 14 and learned about lobotomies, which was the final straw in shattering my belief in an immortal soul, and over the course of a few years, I took the deist->agnostic->atheist path.
supertwiggs wrote:
b. To you, what is God like? Describe God. If they do not believe in God, don't ask
the next several questions, but ask . . . To you, what is important in life?

I don't believe in the supernatural, including God, but for the last part... Always learning and having an enjoyable life.
supertwiggs wrote:
e. Describe what the term/name Jesus Christ means to you?

Not much. Unlike a lot of people on here, I lean toward thinking he probably existed in some sense, but even if so, I doubt the Bible is an accurate account of his life, and I'm agnostic about Jesus to the point where I'm not even sure his name would have been Jesus or that he was even only one person.
supertwiggs wrote:
f. If you were to attend a church or youth group, what would be important to you?

pwning n00bs with my ubermicro.
supertwiggs wrote:
g. From your perspective, what are some of the major problems you see with churches and youth ministries?

You mean aside from thinking that most of what they say is not likely to be true?

Speaking of which, I'm in Japan, and I just got a JW visit while I was typing the above. I always tell myself I'm actually gonna own them the next time they show up, but they're always too creepy, so I just take their literature and try to get rid of 'em.

Oh, but that's the thing. I always read the shit, for a laugh. If I answer the door, they give me an English one, and if I don't answer, they give me a Japanese one, which is more entertaining to me for some reason - see this thread I made on the old forums:

Indeed. Can't we take a vote on a new scheme for this site? It doesn't have to be identical to IG Forums (though I wouldn't complain if it was) - just earthier colors instead of the current "generic forum" look.

It's supposedly out all over the place, though I've never heard about the U.S. version, just the JP and EU versions. Check eBay or Amazon, and make sure it includes the RAM expansion cart (DS lite version or DS phat version, depending on what you've got).

The European version went on sale months before the US version did. I have a Japanese version that Eyedunno posted translated instructions on how to use it. The rare times I have to go to the airport, I bring it along to surf the WiFi while I wait.

The regular DS version will work on the light, its memory cart will merely stick out like a GBA cart. The DS light version will not work on the regular DS.

I got a new memory expansion for DS called the Ewin Expansion Pak, which is sorta compatible with the browser. You run a special app from a slot-1 flashcart that patches the RAM so the browser will think it's an official memory pack, then swap cards, then quickly turn your DS off, then on again then it will run. But it's easier to just run a ripped copy of the browser, so that's what I do now Embarassed Don't sue me, Nintendo, I still own the official browser cart!

This memory expansion has the advantage of providing more memory (32MB, vs. 8MB for Nintendo's) for homebrew software, and also allowing GBA games and homebrew to be loaded without swapping carts in slot-2. I'm a big fan of emulation and homebrew on the DS. Smile
