so... its says "days"... and you're questioning whether or not it meant "days"? O_o

The english is the word "days." But the word that is used in the Hebrew text is more ambiguous. It could mean the literal day, or age of time.
Quote:
2) The word yôma has multiple meanings in Hebrew. BDB's Hebrew lexicon gives the following definitions:

1) day, time, year
a) day (as opposed to night)
b) day (24 hour period)
1) as defined by evening and morning in Genesis 11
2) as a division of time
a) a working day, a day's journey
c) days, lifetime (pl.)
d) time, period (general)
e) year
f) temporal references
1) today
2) yesterday
3) tomorrow

Let's not all forget that these "days" of creation occurred before the sun was created...
There is no coherent definition of "day" without the presence of the sun, from our perspective.

"God" could have easily been created by another, equally supreme, but absent god. Maybe Yahweh was born from "God most high" (Genesis 14), but then disappeared. This is what happens when you talk about things you can't prove, you create more questions then you have answered.

Throughout scriptures God has many different names...the Hebrews used the term YahWeh because they respected the name of God so much that they didn't even want to say it. So they used other discriptive words as well, but all are the same God...there is no contradiction on this matter within scripture.

I really wish UnderGrace would stop saying the word logic. It's pretty clear that he doesn't even understand the Principle of Non-Contradiction, which was like - the first fucking rule of logic ever discovered... or developed, or whatever.

Well then you should understand more than anyone under my discussion of absolutes...you can read it on the other topic but basically, saying that there are no absolutes=an absolute statement.

The Garden of Eden is a lie.

I'm not assuming anything. The buy-bull says gawd created Adam and Eve.
The buy-bull says only two people were on the face of the Earth. NOT an entire race of primitive homo sapeins who later evolved into Homo Sapeins Sapiens!
Gawd spoke to them. You say gawds word is a lie. The buy-bull lies about the whole story.

If you use evolution in your buy-bull then there is no original man and woman. NONE. You can't get around this.
If you use evolution in your buy-bull then there is no knowledge of good and evil.
If you use evolution in your buy-bull then there is no original sin. NONE. Jebus die for nothing!

And don't tell me about lack of physical evidence. That covers your ass like a blanket.

Quote:
Saying Genesis is a lie is only assuming the atheistic position...
You make that assumption when you say the buy-bull is wrong.
I'm taking the buy-bull at it's word. It's either the unerrant word of gawd or it isn't.
There's no language problem here. Either gawd created man as it says in the buy-bull or he didn't.
God created a garden, put a tree of knowledge in the garden, then put animals and TWO people in it, or he didn't.
Genesis is a lie if you believe evolution. There's no middle ground.
You can't have it both ways. Get off the fucking fence.

I love the way theists pervert their own holey gawd inspired book of bullshit.

What does you not understanding something have to do with me understanding something better than anyone. I'm fairly certain that the ONLY thing that I even COULD understand better than anyone else here is something mathematical - but even that's a longshot. However, that's way beside the point - the point is that there was once again, zero logic in that statement.

you not understanding =/= me understanding something relatively unrelated better than anyone else

Please don't quote me again, it's embarrassing.

That was not my point at all, please reread it carefully. My rant about "God most high" was only hypothetical.
