The bible appears to have stories in it that contain verbage very similar to what we would call a fairy tale these days. Things like Job's Lot's wife getting turned into a pillar of salt simply for turning around and looking back on the city (Thats true love right there, by the way).
Why does it seem that those things only happened in the bible waaaaaaay back in the day? Stuff like that, to THAT caliber doesnt happen any more. If there was a god that did silly shit like that, why did it stop suddenly?
I'm sort of thinking out loud here, and probably should actually direct this towards a christian group for answers, rather than preaching to the (secular) choir. I havent read a bible though, so maybe someone who's well versed in it can explain that bit to me.

well I went out and asked the talking snake that lives in the apple tree in my backyard what the deal was and he didn't know.
on another note, it seems that snake is hell bent on getting me to try his apples. I don't know though, I got an awful feeling about that tree. |

Also, these stories are still told, you just haven't actually witnessed any such happenings. This probably leads you to my conclusion, that the most likely explanation is human ignorance, credulity, and imagination. Remember, these days it's all about the abductions, ghosts, and big-foot.

Actually, I have probably witnessed such crazy things in my life, however I didnt jump to the same conclusion as those fruits and blew it off as something with a real explanation.
