Has anyone seen this movie yet ?
Thoughts ?
I saw it yesterday. It's rare to find a film that can display both horror and beauty at the same time. And a story that is disturbing and uplifting simultaneously. It sort of stuck with me. I'm curious what others thought about the central theme, and the messages this story is trying to convey.
The writer/director (Guillermo Tel Toro) describes himself as an "ex-catholic" and turned down the directing job of "lion, witch and the wardrobe" because he was...."not interested in watching the lion resurrect". I found that amusing.
The Trailer here:

I think I may see it next Saturday for my friend's birthday. I hope it's good...

I'm planning on seeing it Sunday. I'm looking forward to it, the set up sounds very interesting. _________________ Namaste,

I saw it last weekend. One of the most amazing, best movies I've ever seen. Aside from the Lord of the Rings movies, it's the best movie of the new millennium.
As a 22 year old man, I rarely feel that sense of "magic" when I see a movie or read a book - but this had it. Everyone should see it. |

I rarely go to the movies, but this one just might get some money out of me. Sounds great and the trailer on TV caught my attention for sure. _________________ If you're going to ignore science, ignore ALL of it and stop your car, and get out and just walk instead. |

The reviews definitely look interesting. I may very well see it when it opens here, but as I recall I didn't much care for "Cronos", and I'm kinda tired of movies that look nice but leave me feeling disinterested in the end. If I get in that mood there's always Terry Gilliam or Tim Burton. _________________ “I think it’s also important for the President to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

Yes, you did confuse them. You were thinking of the actor Benecio DelToro (who I believe was in "Sin City") I presume. But that's fine. He's a good actor, so you get a pass. If you had confused the director with Adam Sandler then you might need all the power you can summmon from your mighty chin to defend yourself... _________________ “I think it’s also important for the President to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”
