OJ Simpson has been found guilty of robbery and faces 5 years to life.

A cynical person might think that some powerful Americans were so embarrassed over his murder acquittal that he'll have the book thrown at him.

Here such a case might attract a year,or a suspended sentence. Imo a long sentence will make the US judiciary appear vindictive, further damaging the already shattered reputation of the USA internationally.

Me? I couldn't care less what they do or don't do to OJ, I'm merely curious.

15 years to life. 5 is much shorter than the sentencing guidelines allow. I am waiting to see his appeal, as his defense lawyer stated there were no black jurors.

But what will he serve? In practice? Him being a first time offender and all....

Yes, I'm sure the world is watching this sentencing very closely and will use the length of sentence to judge the quality of the US judiciary system.

I'm not sure about THE world but a sizable amount did just that during the previous OJ trial.

The previous OJ trial was an orange. This is an apple. Gutting your wife and her friend is just slightly more compelling than you and three thugs roughing up three other thugs over ill gotten merchandise.

Still, spending the remainder of his life in prison was the consequence he faced at both! If it is that what he's gonna get for this.

Justice isn't blind as we would like. We used to have a chance for a trial first and not so much publicity. Today people are tried daily on too many tv shows and on the internet. Each case is supposed to be tried on his own but it is hard to wonder if any of the jurors were influenced by the famous trial.

I am looking forward to a day when the states cut back on their lengths of prison sentences. It is abominable in some cases. I'm not concerned with what other countries think, I am concerned that it isn't justice.
