Hey, Atheist Forums, my name's Baillie and I'm new here.
About me, well... there's not a whole lot to tell. I'm a sixteen-year old Anglo from Quebec, Canada, and I'm a fairly militant atheist. I don't have some moving de-conversion story to tell, I just remember sitting in church and thinking, "Now, this is all a bit silly, isn't it?" (I was somewhat of a dry eight year old). My parents still took me to church occasionally, but only because, as an eight year old, I wasn't exactly in a position to make demands. Eventually we just stopped going all-together, although I think my parents still consider themselves Christians.
I'm fairly big on... alternative lifestyles... and I guess you'd say I have a strong concept of individuality. Politically, I'm closer to anarchist than anything else, but that word carries a lot of stigma so I just call myself a Radical Libertarian. To me, unlimited freedom of speech and expression is the most important things. I'm hardly a tinfoil hatter but I do think that there's something big going on between the lines of geopolitics.
I'm a huge fan of the arts; books, movies, music, everything short of actual art, I guess. Frank Zappa is my favourite musician ever, Watchmen is my favourite book, I'm huge into action movies, the cornier the better, and I'm definitely a gamer, even if I'm not all that good at it. I guess you'd call me the stereotypical geek, sans the interest in mathematics.
But enough about me... _________________

Welcome! Watchmen is a great book. Have you ever read Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck? I think you'll really like it. Oh and a side note, is Baillie french or something? _________________ "Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, underwhich weak minds are servilely crouched. Don't worry about it, the name gets butchered way worse where I'm from. Took me years to figure out that when French telemarketers called and asked for "Mr. Bai-ee" they had the right number.

Dude... that's absolutely freaky... I totally do. The Red Wings suck.

That is intense.

Never really been a big Steinbeck fan, but just looked it up on Wiki and it seems pretty cool. If I didn't have about twelve books backed up as-is I'd probably try to get my hands on it, lol.

Well, sort of... my dad's ancestors manwhores/horse thieves from Normandy who left for Scotland, where the family patriarch got caught trying to sell stolen horses. At the trial (if you want to call it that... medieval justice and such), the judge couldn't pronounce their Norman name. Someone said they looked like they were part of the Bailey clan, and so they hung him under that name. To further complicate things, the records misspelled the name as Baillie. I guess the name just stuck.
My ancestors... were awesome. _________________
