Hey everyone,
My names Eric, and i just found this site in doing some research for a school project i was thinking of doing about religion.
I am a Senior at the University Of Massachusetts Dartmouth (Computer Science). I have a full time job as a software engineer at a top U.S. technology company, and I love Hondas.
I have been an Atheist (in the technical sense of the word) since birth. My mother and father decided that I was not be baptised (even though they were Cathlic) when I was born, but I should instead decide for myself which religion to follow when I was old enough to make an informed decision. Throughout my childhood I was never exposed to religion (i've been to church twice), and I feel that is a "blessing" (heh). I feel like I've been able to see the world without the veil of religion, and feel I have escaped the "brainwashing".
Looking forward to reading through the posts here. I dont get to discuess religion very often because all my friends/family are religious people, and i feel like I am insulting them when I express my atheism. |

Well, next time they peach to you(if they do)tell them nicely that you don't believe in the same things they do. They are ignorant for assuming that you believe in God in the first place. _________________ VERITAS OMNIA VINCIT

Welcome aboard LostShootingStar
Don't be like all these other lazy atheists! You have to send in 10 boxtops and bring one fresh baby to the weekly baby BBQ to get a decoder ring!
(atheists are well known baby eaters) That has been a running joke in here for years. Pass it along.
OH and NOBODY SHOWS ANYBODY THE SECRET HANDSHAKE UNTIL AFTER YOU GET THE DECODER RING!
I'm gonna yank the union card of the next athesit who does so! |

I've always wondered what that would be like.
You have to understand most Atheists here are former Christians... I was particularly fundamentalist. It seems difficult for me to imagine what the world would have felt like as a child without the fear, threat, and guilt introduced into my mind by religion.
Anyway, yea man... Welcome aboard. _________________ “Here, here's American Gladiators. Watch this, shut up, go back to bed America, here is American Gladiators, here is 56 channels of it! And I can't imagine how a child could still be a normal child with that hanging over his or her head. All I had to worry about was ridin' a bike and chuckin' rocks at stuff... |

Do we have to provide our own baby, or can we use one that God killed earlier? |
