Is it three flames on the same person or just in a row?
Flaming is what is fun about this site, that is the entire reason this site exists! Ripping on theists for their bullshit is why this site was created, fuck the flaming rule and fuck this Love shack mentality. If they can't handle being ripped on LEAVE.

Exactly. We understand that. So you and your BFF slap each other around once or twice, but then you either get back to the topic or get a room in ETD. I love a good flame war, but it's not fair to turn every single post into a drunken brawl, is it? A time and a place for everything, you know?

i am NOT here at the ATHEIST FORUMS to have to weed through proselytizing. If an intelligent discourse follows proselytizing, it can occur AFTER the person doing it has been banned and the thread relegated to EtD.
this "Proselytizing is allowed" rule is setting a HORRIBLE and destructive precedent. It also relies on a FUTURE condition that may or may not be met! How does one Moderate something that has not or may not happen??
I STRONGLY ask the Mods to reconsider the "Proselytizing is allowed" rule.

1) People that come with their copy-paste proselytizing bullshit are going to be banned immediately under the spam rule anyway.
2) The others that come in here with some mixed message of "Evolution is wrong and you need Jesus" or some similar message instantly turns into a 30-page thread full of lulz. Many people aren't interested in that type of debate anymore, and I for one definitely understand that. But MANY of the members are, evidenced by every single one of our recent threads involving new, theistic members. That one chick that wanted you to move out of Jesus land? Strictly speaking, she may have been banned under the old rules for issuing the "why take chances" line. But we're having fun here, no?
3) Too much proselytizing with too little intelligent discourse still earns you a ban.
4) There might be a four. I just can't remember it right now.

moloth, if you will notice below the label "atheist forums" it says "a community website for freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and believers"
I for one have been staunchly opposed to the anti proselytizing rule since its creation, on the grounds of it being censorship. I'm glad that rule is no more. |

2. no. not fun. she shoulda been banned. i even said so early on in that thread. like i said, if she wants to come back, later, and follow the rules, fine.
3. i am concerned about at what point that ratio will elicit action. I am hoping for very little tolerance for proselytizing.
4. this is list item 4. um... just because you put one.
