Only a theory

Here are the 8 parts of a very entertaining presentation Ken Miller gave at the University of Texas-Austin, titled “God, Darwin, and Design - Lessons from the Dover Monkey Trial.”

PZ Myers reviews Ken Miller's book 'Only a Theory' for Nature. It's a mixed review.

This talk absolutely demolishes creationism. And he's a Christian, lol.

In fact the whole Dover trial did that. It's the easiest thing in the world to accuse one's opponents of not being both intelligent and honest, but it's very difficult to see how the leading ID proponents can be in the face of such demolition. The judge's report itself questions their honesty. And he's a Bush-appointed republican with a conservative track record, lol.

Of course, as Miller warns, this maybe the end of ID but of not of the underlying creationism. Apparently the next wave of attack being planned is CA - "Critical Analysis of evolution".

I'm quite into Dover at the moment, it's great atheist entertainment. I ordered Barbara Forest's book about the Wedge strategy today.

A lot of Christians consider creationism/intelligent design to be an embarrassment, and quite rightly so.
