I think it's a pre--Pauline hymn, as Price does: but I think that the name that is above any other could easily be meant to be "Lord."

Are you asking what his name was before he "was given the name 'Jesus'"? If so, I have no idea. But if Price's interpetation is right, it doesn't matter: for "Jesus" itself would then be a title. It means "YHWH is salvation."

No. Your name, for instance, probably means "ancient" from latin (although it's actually an obscure etymology).

I know many people named "Joshua" nowadays. That's the same name Jesus had, essentially. Jesus is just anglicized. It doesn't preclude those people's existence, however. And it has nothing to do with the existence of God.

not in it's meaning but if someone "chose" to give it to him when they wrote the bible and created "jesus".
