Israel's revered secret, the so called "Ineffable Name" was made useless when Jesus achieved this:
By having in your mind not the name, but the one behind the name, then it's not really the name that matters.
Jesus name is the openly revealed name by which the secretly held YHWH was made void.
Jesus gave the power of the temple priests to the common people. The old Israeli priesthood, which had relied on the belief of the common people for its power (that no one but the priests had any hope of calling on God), was put to death.
Note: Everyone who calls on God believing that he will hear is always heard. But Jesus opened the minds of the people at the time, by giving people the hope they needed to believe that knowing the name of God was irrelevant. |

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the "wuddat?" from millions of Jews who still take YHWH seriously, the millions of Christians who still take their interpretation of the Third Commandment (Second for Catholics) seriously, and the billion Muslims, not to mention the billions who never belonged to an Abrahamic faith tradition. You'll have to speak louder. _________________

There's technical word to describe that claim --umm,Oh yes "Bollocks"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetragramaton.
Yeah, afraid I'm being all blunt and insensitive again.
As you might have gleaned, I'm an atheist. That means I don't believe in god(s).In turn, that means I don't accept the existence of revealed truth of any kind.
As far as I'm aware all major christian churches still accept the tetragramaton as the name of god.
A suggestion,if you're going to make absurd statements to humanists,do try to back them up with something other than blind faith.Otherwise unkind people will simply laugh at you. I'm not a laughing. I don't find that level of gormlessness amusing,(no offence intended) |

It's for whoever hears it. If it's a lie, it will die. But if it's true, it will take root in the hearer. If there's truth in it, your heart will refine it until you come to the truth.
For me it just means that Freemasonry is what's bollocks, and that the degrees are modern day Phariseeism.
I can just get the whole 33 yards through "Jesus". |

So does this mean we can come up with our own names?

So, lies are never bought, because they cant take root in whom ever hears them?

If Prude Bigot is the name of the one called on in crisis who the person calling is unworthy to call (to me this is like asking my mom, who is already strained for money, to get me a set of new tires when I have a full time job and separate income, but have spent it all on crystal meth)
Then Prude Bigot will do. Probably not if the words have the meanings commonly applied. But if you can apply the meaning (calling) I mentioned, they will work. |

This could be the beginning of a novel... might need a few editorials, but hard work and a lot of sucking around, and you would get yourself a best-seller... |
