first of all forgive me for my poor english, am atheist from india. i was jain . jainism sucks so much... most of jainism revovles around karma. since it is based on different vedic scriptures , its concepts are totally confused. jains think that killing animals is sin and more you sin more you get lower level in your next rebirth. also some jains are so fools that they think playing video game will lead them to hell!...yes, jains belive in heaven and hell..7 heavens and 7 hells...with different degree of pleasure and torture. and some jains dont belive in evolution !!! when i asked my jain sister history to earth ..she told me her jain view!! that earth has been created and destroyed 6 times! and alien like creatures lived with man during all of six eras!. i told her all shes tellin is bullshit and i showed her my pre history book but she told science is bullshit and so is my athiestic philosophy. offcourse my whole family is vegeterian and i still cant eat meat even after being atheist cause i have never tasted meat jain teachers (equivalent to pastors)
teach bullshit....they never use electricity, they cut their hair by pulling them by hands..offcourse it hurts.they always wear white cloths and never eat or drink!!! after 6 in evening. they think by torturing themselves they will get human form in next birth!! sucks too much |

That sounds horrible. I realized some of what you just said about Jainism, but not all of it. I wasn't aware of the hair-pulling. That's crazy!
Welcome to the forum. Your English is fine. It's perfectly understandable. I'm sure it will improve over time. _________________ "There is too little love in the world to devote any of it to an imaginary being."-Nietzsche

Welcome helloween_metal.
Very interesting to read about Jainism.
Must admit, I never read about it, and it seems like all religions, as you say, - sucks.
Sound like a truly masochistic religion, just like any other. Pulling hair?
What I heard about Jainism that it is a peaceful religion.
Unlike Islam, which is a religion of conquest and mass murder, but describes itself as the religion of peace.
Anyway, welcome. Look around, read and enjoy. Tell us more about Jainism. _________________ "Orwell was a visionary. He just got the date wrong." |

actually there are more crazy things.like my cousing brother is vegeterian and that too he doesnt eat onions, potatos , carrots and other "roots". our worship place is called "Ssthanak" it is a room with nothing in it......no fan, no light , no idols almost nothing...there the preacher preaches in Sanskrit language..an ancient indian language that no one understands !!! and once you become preacer you are cut of from real world...you cant even stay in your own city.you have to go to kutch...brith place of jainsim and fact is many small kids of 17-16 years are forced to live such life..... |

I've known atheist Jains who take that all as metaphor.
The delusions are not good, but at least they're not killing anyone over it. I can't completely disrespect a religion that only leads people to being more peaceful. I'd take a delusional Jain over a delusional Muslim ANY day. _________________ Namaste,

Europeans lifted the word "Aryan" from Indians.

Sounds like the Jains and the orthodox Jews have something in common. _________________ Namaste,
