Prophecy, which is predicting future events before they happen, is found through out the Bible. Many of the prophecies predicted have already come to pass, in these prophecies there could be no room of being humanly contrived, the reports of their fulfillment are recorded in history...
Of the truth such prophecies can be attributed to non other than Divine origin...
Here's a vid I came across from Youtube that lists a few of these prophecies:

How cannot you not agree??

Part of the problem, Martha, is that you do not understand the real meaning of the word "Prophecy." This is a common misconception that has led so many preachtards down the wrong road it's laughable. The bible concept of "prophecy" or to "prophesy" is not to foretell the future. It means "preaching" or "to preach."
So the Old Testament prophets were not considered soothsayers, which the OT condemns as witchery, but preachers!
MORON |
I disagree. Whether the word "prophecy" was used or not, there are several instances in the OT that seem to predict the future. For example, Ezekial 26 is all about how Tyre will be completely and utterly destroyed at some point in the future.
Just a small snippet:
| Quote: | | 14"I will make you a bare rock; you will be a place for the spreading of nets. You will be built no more, for I the LORD have spoken," declares the Lord GOD. |
Unfortunately for Bible-believers, Nebuchadnezzar never destroyed Tyre. Alexander the Great eventually destroyed it, but it didn't remain desolate as prophesied.
Modern day Tyre (This is a large pic of its fishing harbour, so I've spoiled it):

I see it all the time. Theists who confuse the dogma with reality.
FAITH is not FACT. BELIEF is not KNOWLEDGE.
Some you can beat over the head long enough to make them realize that. Some never get it. |

The Bible is true because it Jesus says it is. I know Jesus exists and is telling the truth because the Bible says he is. I know the Bible is true because Jesus says it is. _________________ Regarding creationists: Aren't these the same people who gave us alchemy and astrology, and who told us the earth, besides being flat, was at the center of the universe? I prophesy hereby that your fiendish plans will come to naught. They will whither away like dead sheep in the middle eastern dessert. They will fail like a pork chops restaurant in Tehran. I Gerard the prophet said that!

Didn't know about this guy. Great story. He used common sense in his predictions, and I tend to like when people do that. _________________ Just Talk About It

Hey, if that's the case...stay away from me! I don't want whatever you have caught from the Freaks and with the draught in Atlanta and Sunny Purdue praying for water and all that, you never know what they may have us drinking...
