I say 13 years and ummmmm $400,000 in fines.

Ya but most prisons have large religious populations as the religious people feed on the weak people new to prison and convert them to their side.

being religious is likely to protect hovind. as I understand it prisoners often respect religious peers, and leave them alone. (at least most do)
I will be curious what kind of sentence he gets. I will be checking www.cseblogs.com this afternoon to see if there is an update. I am sure they will be writing to either thank god for "delivering hovind" (assuming he is acquitted) or blaming his incarceration on evolution. |

Well, well, well. Mr. Stewart has screwed up again. He has written that the maximum that Dr. Hovind could spend in prison is 288 years, and Mrs. Hovind could spend 225 years in prison. This would be true if the method for calculating sentence was to add up all the years end to end. Unfortunately, this is not correct. According to Federal Statutes, they will serve all sentences at the same time, which would mean that the longest they spend in prison is the term for the worst infraction, which would be 14 years for each.
Mr. Stewart, if you are going to be reporting on law and trials, do your homework and make sure your information is correct before submitting an article for publishing.
