um, probably because YOU haven't made a thread about it.
I was here on this forum from the very beginning, applying CPR ever day trying to resuscitate it. it was very, very close to completely dying. Me, and a few others, would just post something, ANYTHING to give people something to read.. a reason to come here at all. Were the posts very smart or deep? probably not, but, dammit, you're all still here, ain't cha?
Please, if you want the forum to take another direction, don't waste time pining for the old days... take an active stance and lead the way. its not hard.. its just an internet discussion forum.
I;ve been in silly threads and very deep serious threads.. i love 'em both. There;s room for both here. |
QFT. If you want the forum to change, you change it. |

Yeah, I think you should change your title to 'Forum Necromancer' because what you did back then bordered on the Black Arts (and come to think of it it might explain all this talk about zombies that's going on).
Todangst, Yellow,
Don't you think that you coming over here from the RRS boards every once in a while, and seeing enough people that you find it worthwhile to tell them how much the old forums were better then these, is evidence that things are not as bad as you make them out to be? _________________

I wasn't around at the beginning, but I ain't no n00b either. I've donated a lot of time, energy, and money to Reggie because this is a worth while project, and I want to see it persist.
If you want this place to survive, POST AND DONATE! See that PLEDGE button in the top right corner? That's there to keep this place going, and to bring you great content that Reggie spends tons of time, energy, and money creating. Even if you can't pledge much, pledge SOMETHING. Send a Paypal one time donation of $5. You can either blow that on a Starbuck's coffee drink, or give back a little to the community and organization that is fighting the good fight. Don't be a leech, be a proud supporter.
OK, I'm done with my infomercial now. _________________ Namaste,

I totally would, but if I don't have a credit card, and if my parents found out I was donating to an atheist site, they would probably disown me. Once I find a way, I will. _________________ VERITAS OMNIA VINCIT

If I found no value at all left here, I wouldn't post at all, you're quite correct. That doesn't mean I cannot miss the hustle and bustle of the way it used to be a very short while ago.
I rarely complain about it or pine for the old days, but as PR brought it up, I put in my own thoughts about it. I'd be lying if I said I weren't just a bit bitter about the way Reggie ultimately managed things. _________________ I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins

The thing I will say that I also love about this board is that the Moderators actually do the best they can to be impartial when they do have to enforce the rules. They get involved in the arguments and the debates, but they don't seem to let anything personal effect them and keep things running smoothly. If there is any infighting or major disagreements between the Mods, for the most part, we rarely ever see it. _________________ Fuck you bitch!!!
