I have only been here a short time and it seems that the mods here allow open debate and free speech. I have been to religious forums but was not extended the same courtesy.
I would hope that Christians would be allowed to say anything that want to say here because the more they babble they more the more they lose the argument. |

Whaaaat? That's a bit of a contradiction of terms. Not that I really have a problem, except I don't think that makes sense....
o.O confused! |
Which one or ones do you see as contradictory? I'll be glad to elaborate. |

Well atheist and believer are kinda mutually exlusive.
Unless it isn't god that you believe in. |
There is no conflict between infidel and believer and I have considered myself an infidel for 35 years even though I am indeed a believer by choice. It is because of the IG forum and other atheist forums that I also concede that I am an atheist and believer and there is no conflict according to many atheists, although not all atheists would agree. This is not webster or other dictionaries but rather debate or discussion tactics of many atheists themselves including some of the top known ones.
I don't have the exact quote or quotes but it goes roughly like this. Some atheists were challenging theists with "you too are an atheist to another person's god". Or you too are an atheist to the 9999 gods other than yours. We (meaning the dictionary atheist) just have one god less than yours or no gods.
I am an atheist when it comes to the literal god of the Judeo Christian bible as well as to most or all of the gods I have knowledge of. I am a believer in as much as I accept that there is a creator that would fit in the category of one god. |

She is, of course, correct. you can not believe in a deity and STILL be gullible enough to believe in spirits, crystals, ghosts, aliens, chakra, chi, reincarnation, souls, astral travel, honest politicians, psychic powers, conspiracy theories and all other sorts of woo-woo bullshit. _________________ -=The Believer is Happy; the Skeptic is Wise=-

I love you guys, I'm thinking of buying a summer home here.
What are the schools like? Is there a good Presbyterian Church close by? Where can I buy some Black Tar Heroin? _________________ "I like Trout and I hope I get into his signature one day." . . . Mr_C, Singing my praises

I make a few hard drugs jokes myself now and again. But I've never actually seen hard drugs and certainly couldn't name a brand. _________________ Theists wank too. |

| I prefer the angle white over the black tar. Cooks easier and doesn't gum up my rig! |

Don't get the wrong idea. Let them fight. I don't care if they meet in the Arena of Doom and stab each other through the eyeballs in front of a cheering mob. What I was mad about was that it was all over the forum. There were literally 10 threads going simultaneously with the very same argument. You couldn't read a post or follow a thread. It was a disaster. |
That kind of stuff comes and goes. It's the ebb and flow of internet forums. It can be annoying when it happens, but it just happens sometimes. When KnoB and sjc get into it, it's basically the same thing (only with slightly more actual content). Only instead of capitalist versus socialist, it's atheist versus theist. _________________ Namaste,

Not that I'm making any personal defenses or questioning Mod actions, but I'm not clear on this matter. Is "being annoying" an offense? That's how it comes across anyway, unless I've missed something. _________________ Namaste,

No, but splatter-gunning almost every active thread with short vaccuous posts brings discussions across the forums to a virtual standstill, and that's what happened last weekend. _________________ Theists wank too. |
