Half of Israeli population non-religious

According to a new study and survey data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, roughly half the Israeli population is non-religious.

“The 2008 Israel Democracy Index uncovered the following breakdown of Israel’s population: 51% of Israelis are secular, 30% traditional, 10% Orthodox, and 9% haredi..."

The irony is that their country is there because of their religious texts.

But those numbers are surprising.

I'll admit, that one comes at me as a complete shock. Never would I have guessed that ISRAEL of all places is waking up to the truth that religion is a lie. Perhaps there is hope for humanity yet.

But if the Muslim religious fantatics find out that so many Israelis don't believe in God/Allah at all, they'll hate them even more than if they just believe in a different prophet!

im actualy not that surprise by these figures,

like the other post about Iraqis loosing their faith, it seems that places besieged by religious fanatics and conflicts they'll eventually get fed up of organised religion and turn into a secular society
