Prediction: Ron Paul's total speaking time will be under 5 minutes.

if I was ron paul, I'd say "hey folks, my name is ron paul, and knowing the media won't let me have my fair say, I want you to go to www.ronpaul2008.com

there I would have an announcement to check back the following day for videos giving extended rebuttals to all the claims made by the other republican candidates.

the media has competition now. the tubes are the way of the future! Wink

Hey--we had a real debate for about 4 minutes. Then it went back to the Rudy McRomney show.

Wouldn't it be super duper if Ron Paul became president, and DIDN'T transform like a were wolf, into a hapless figure head?

If he actualy KILLED the department of homeland security -- liquefied it. That would be fucken amazing. I would make a batch of beer in his honor.

I think that would be third on his list of things to do, right after bringing home as many troops as possible and eliminating the IRS. I think he'd break DHS back into its components, and probably eliminate FEMA.

I'm still a bit shakey in the separate powers, so I want to ask this. Does the President actually have the constitutional authority to dissolve these organizations? Or would Congress have to?

I'm not terribly informed about american government structure, but departments fall under the executive branch do they not?, so I would expect that he could, seeing as he would just be reversing the work of his predecessors.

Yes, the departments all fall under the executive branch. They are created by acts of congress, and can be eliminated as well.

RIGHT NOW THE TEXT IN POLL IS HILARIOUS
RON PAUL 33%
Giuliani 16%

FUCKING OWNED.

It pissed me off so much when they were introducing Ron Paul before they began questioning him, laughing at the talking points associated with his campaign... Eliminating the CIA, no Income Tax etc...

AND THEN FOX NEWS GOT BUTTFUCKED BY THE TEXT IN VOTERS.

I'm "tickled pink"

*opens a beer*
Salute gentlemen, and gentleladies... Ron Paul triumpheth again!

Of course Fox News downplayed Paul, giving the majority of the Air time to the two biggest fucking NEOCONS in the room, Giuliani and Romney and got their ASSES handed to them anyway.

It would be interesting to see a graph detailing the amount of speaking time each candidate was given.
It would definitely expose the neo-con bias so obviously present on faux newz
