Well, since becoming an atheist, I've become more aware that I'm surrounded by a bunch of sketchballs that are afraid to think and my family now thinks I'm the arm of Satan...although I'm not sure that last one is a disadvantage. _________________ This space is reserved for inarticulate meat puppets who have no true perspective outside the refuge of quotation marks.

April 1st? Do you know something I don't? Where do you live so that I can move there and take it off (the day, I mean...).
"How can an Atheist be counted upon to raise a weapon and kill men, women and children for Christ? They can't! That's your answer. Every one of them is just an act of treason waiting to happen." |

truly i have the problem that always when i tell someone that i'm atheist they always look a bit scared. well the problem for me is that many religous people dont want to hang out or even want to talk with you.
i am really proud of that that i am a freethinker and that i can listen to the people and their views of things, but what ive already learned is that never cross "other religion" or "no religion" on question papers. this is gonna kill you xD
therefore as i said even when im proud to be an atheist i cross on christian because pale men mostly are lookin like those christians and i still remember some things of my loooong ago school time about religion studies. |

| I was being smart-ass making fun of a stupid chain-email going around.
its has a story about an atheist complaining to a judge about how we don't have any holidays, to which the judge says "you have april first." (aprils fools day)
then it quotes that verse in the bible about how the fool says there is no god. |

Exclusion and discrimination from certain groups. The Boy Scouts come to mind, along with a story I read on this forum about someone trying to set up an Atheist Club at their school and being rejected by several teachers and administrators. _________________ Regarding creationists: Aren't these the same people who gave us alchemy and astrology, and who told us the earth, besides being flat, was at the center of the universe? this is true. i go to a christian college in tx on a soccer scholarship and if someone finds out about my belief it seems they'd like to kill me. but usually i just get a lot mean glares or bombarded with facebook messages trying to convert me and stuff like that. sometimes they treat me like i have a disease. however, in new orleans people mostly don't care what you believe. i always wondered what it'd be like to be up north and be an atheist. |

I don't know why, but I've had no problems (yet) with being an atheist in the south. Maybe it's because I don't shout my affiliation from the rooftops, but no one has tried to convert me or attack me so far. _________________ Regarding creationists: Aren't these the same people who gave us alchemy and astrology, and who told us the earth, besides being flat, was at the center of the universe?
