I've been offered a really interesting and fairly lucrative job in the Boston area. The job seems great, but I despise moving and don't know anyone in or anything about the area.

Any of you from that area, what can you tell me about it? Where do the 20-30 something single professionals live? What are rents and real estate prices like? What is there to do besides go to Sox and Pats games?

Anything you have to say would be apprieciated.

Read Stephen King's "Cell" and watch "The Departed" and "Good Will Hunting" back to back. It may not help you with neighborhoods or scenes, but at least you'll already be sick of the accents.

Congrats by the way!

Boston is one of the youngest cities in the country as there is a very large number of universities. My sister-in-law lives in a suburb of Boston and in fact we will be visiting her next week. She worked in real estate for awhile so if you want I can get some inside info. from her.

That's what I meant as the predicate would imply.

Considering Yellow's a Mighty Mighty Bosstones & Dropkick Murphys fan, I don't think music would be an issue.

Who posted that Boston song and set it to both "autoplay" and "repeat"? I don't see it in anyone's post, and it's annoying.

That was in Gerard's post. It only shows up as a period. I took it out of my reply to him.

Well as much as I enjoy the peanut gallery, none of this really helps me.

Bark's got it right thart music won't be an issue, many of my favortite bands originate there, but they also tour - so what else does Boston have to offer?

I'm a bit old (though not opposed) to dating college coeds, but again I can get that pretty much anywhere were I lecherous enough.

Anyway, thanks for the input I suppose.

Boston is cool but rent and home prices are high.

You didn't mention family as a reason not to move and you suggested the job looks good. If you don't have other solid job prospects I recommend you move your ass. Smile

History. Boston was the flash pan for the American revolution. Boston was becoming more and more of a powder keg every day while the rest of the colonies stood around and asked each other, "What the hell's wrong with Boston?"
