And thank fuck for that. I'd hate to think of the angry, drunken, throwing and breaking shit fit that might've happened in your current place if they decided to screw you on the no-compete deal. _________________ "The very existence of flame throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.' - George Carlin

In the city of Cambridge, places which aren't that far apart can range from a really nice house to a dingy little flat on the sixth floor with no elevators or air-conditioning. See the place in person before you rent. If that's not possible, have a friend stop by and send you pictures.

Well, I have secured a place, it's in Sagus (north shore area, slightly north and east of the city center).
The place is nice, a one BR with a loft that is nearly as big as the BR, a great view over a park, plenty of storage, lots of amenities, lots of people my age, near several sushi restaurates and pubs. About 10 minutes from center city, about the same from the beach and the same to work (which will be travel in the OPPOSITE direction of rush hour traffic).
There was actually another place I seriously considered that was a bit bigger and just as nice for a little less money, but it was about 45 minutes from the city (20 from work). Like they say; location, location, location.
I'll be moving in on the 27th or perhaps earlier and starting work a day or two after that. _________________ I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins

Congratulations! That is one major thing you don't have to stress about anymore. |

Hehe...well I have moved across the country once. You find out real quickly how much you don't need or want real fast. It also helps if you have a friend or relitive who will let you store big things at their place or garage until you can come back to pick it up. |

Thanks guys. If you see me disappear for a while in the next few weeks, you'll know why, but like MacArthur, I shall return. _________________ I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins

Well, I'm moved in and finally have internet access. I somehow lost my camera during the move, but I will post a few pics sometime soon once I make a trip to Best Buy with my first paycheck.
The place is great, though I am still unpacking.
The job, so far, is great too. They haven't wasted any time getting me to work. I had to go out of my way to make time to set up my email and voicemail stuff. I literally began my first day in a meeting to discuss how we're going to go about commercializing a specific application.
Holy fuck, do they ever have a high opinion of me. Not that it's unwarranted, but I just started and I'm already feeling the pressure - which is GOOD. I've worked for far too many companies who had brilliant ideas but no drive or resources to make them a reality - an actual product that DOES something, rather than an intellectual curiousity. I think things will be different here, at least I hope they will.
Haven't made any friends (or enemies) yet, but did sign up for the next Boston atheists meetup. Hopefully I'll get some social networking going soon - though I may have to keep my hatred of Boston sports teams on the downlow for a time to come.
Cheers,
and feel free to say how much you all missed me over the last few days _________________ I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins

I will say that the New England accent is already grating on me. There is a fucking R in the words car and bar! Pronounce it for fuck's sake. _________________ I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. - Richard Dawkins
