Anybody here like cigars? I just discovered a shop in Matsumoto today that stocks some decent Cuban stuff. Their selection is very limited compared to a typical U.S. tobacco shop, but I wasn't disappointed.
I got a Cohiba Exquisito (seoane size - similar to a petit corona), and it was damn good (it ought to have been for 1500 yen :/).
Cigars are a strange thing for me, as I am very particular about them - they can taste wonderful, or they can taste completely bad. I feel a similar way about beers, though when it comes to wine, the cheaper the better, as long as it's white.
Anyway, yeah, cigar talk. |

I prefer blunts.
I use to live in Germany by The Netherlands and once a week or so I would go down there and pickup a blunt and some coffee. Good days. |

A subject near and dear to my heart! But I just gave them up unofficially and took up smoking a pipe a few months ago. No real reason, other than it's a bit cheaper for me, and the better half doesn't whine as much about the smell.
We can't get Cubans here because of the stupid embargo. Every now and then when I'm in the Detroit area I'll sneek over the border to Windsor and grab a few and smuggle them back. When it comes to Cubans I smoke Bolivar!!!!! Strong flavors!
I prefer a larger ring gauge and dark wrappers. (maruro) Cooler smoking and long lasting. Cigars are about relaxing.
Puros Indios cigars are one of my favorites that I can buy in the States.
ANYTHING by Aurturo Fuentes! (opus X, opus 22 are great but $$$$$$)
Stick with the big names at first, and stay clear of the "ACID" label. It's a new age rock and roll company and I hate them! :p
You might look into buying them online and in bundles. Save yourself a few bucks.
I have a few cigar catalogs at work. When I get there I'll give you the addesses. Free catalogs are good bathroom material too.
/edit how you do that "waists" thing across the screen?!
Cigar Aficionado magazine will give you reviews and cigar news that will help you on your quest.
Half the fun of cigars is trying new ones, at least it was for me.
You know I might take off for work a bit early and grab a stogie. I'm on night shift tonight so no boss around to bitch about the smell.
What do the people in Japan think about a nice fat stinky ol' stogie?

Yeah, I too prefer a larger ring gauge. I like Robustos, as with anything longer, the tar buildup tends to ruin the flavor. Don't care much for maduro wrappers though. TOO mild.

Yeah, I've had Puros Indios. Again, too mild for me. Opus X is very good though. I've only smoked them twice, due to the price.

You can use the four little envelope-looking things on the edit box, or

Yeah, I used to read it from time to time.

They're not at all popular. I've only experienced one person smoking a cigar other than me. That was in a bar, and nobody seemed to care. |
