Damn that was a disturbing read, and a disturbing view into the very real people that think they can change what other people do, or how they just are.
It wasn't jebus that changed her heart, it was her son. Did she thank Tim I wonder or praise the lawd for making her a better christian?
Boy, I'd love Tim's # myself. If he needs to believe, there are the Unitarian places all over the US. He's the one that's not alone. Momma, well she's got the voices in her head to keep her company.
See how much she blamed everybody else and everything else for her SONS choices? Ridiculous.
Christian, you're a jerk for making me read that. |

Well, someone in that family certainly needs help. I don't think it's the son though _________________ "What I'm saying is, if God wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only way he could think of doing it, he could have done a better job." --Carl Sagan

Thats exactly how homos/atheists are treated where I live...
Things that really hit me in the article...
"I learned about Exodus International, a worldwide Christian ministry dedicated to helping men and women who want to overcome homosexuality and turn to Christ." -LIKE YOU can decide who the fuck you want to like? Have these people not learned a SINGLE FUCKING thing in school about genetics/psychology? I mean, I know they dont understand biology, but this REALLY explains alot. There are gay animals also. Are you telling me they also ate the apple of eden or w/e so THEY could sin? (and on that note, why did God kick the animals from the Garden, it was Adam & Eve who ate the apple...so what the hell did they do? Start attending homo-witch craft orgies?)
"After Tim's letter in 1992, I regarded my adult son as a victim. "They" had caught and trapped him. "They" were faceless, nameless, evil people. Homosexuals. Enemies." Nope, Christanity ain't no religion of war & hate, we love every one and accept you with welcome arms! Oh and btw, if I dont like you because I was told not to like you by some one who was told not to like you that some one was told not to like you....and im going to persecute you, and condeem you, and renounce you as family, because JESUS LOVES YOU!...holy shate.
"He glanced over his shoulder and spoke to his companion, a good-looking boy of about eighteen. The boy laughed and his eyes met mine, full of mockery and challenge. I swallowed hard and shuddered, then handed Don the wad of bills, and they walked out arm-in-arm." Ugh, yeah, and every time a girl looks at me, I always see that hungry look in her eye, the one that makes me KNOW she wants to get it on. Or every time I see a black man, I know by the way his eyes seem to gleam in the sun, that he wants to beat the living @(!& out of me. She is imagining soooo much stuff from indoctrination and imagination, its hard to NOT feel sorry for her.... but I manage to.
"How can we reach these hardened hearts? For me, evangelism begins with friendship. I am one small part of God's whole plan—perhaps I can plant one tiny seed, and the next one will plant the garden, and others will nourish it. As I write, Tim seems resigned to being homosexual, but he gives clues that he's not a practicing homosexual." Ok, begins with freindship.... so.... instantly hating people because they are gay, and going all "YER GOIN 2 HELLZ" just because 2 guys LOOK at each other and walk out arm in arm, because your son likes guys, because they dont THINK like you think... is friendship? Tell me where you are, so I can stay the fuck away from it, you hipocritical tool!
All I have to say is that is the sterotypical mind set of my area, and I have to admit... it could probally make a good horror movie, where the atheists and the homos and the "witches" start getting hunted to extinction... *tap chin, tap chin*. How much controversy do you think I could stir up with that movie? _________________ "I Cant Pass Up This Opportunity To Make Myself Observed, I Cant Pass Up This Opportunity To Let Myself Be Heard..." - Seether, Out Of My Way

It would sell better if you flipped it. Make the atheists and witches the hunters, and the religionistas the prey. Add in some childrens vaccinations, that make them gay maybe, and probably a good thing might be some church of the living dead, where everybody who died in the name of god gets to come back and pulverize a churchie.....
I could go on all day long.
Flip your idea, you got yourself a seller!

What a crock of shit. Here's a bone for all you people who break mine and PR's balls over in the Islam room... Christians are fucking lunatics too. The difference is young Tim doesn't have to worry about a stoning from Christians. Being tied to the bumper of a pickup and driven to his death by bigots, yes...but not stoned by village elders. _________________

There's a "post a comment" link at the bottom, but it doesn't work. At least it doesn't for me. I assume this is intentional. _________________ Please visit my site at www.caseagainstfaith.com featuring critiques of Lee Strobel and other apologetics

Indeed I think it is.
The first thing I clicked after I finished reading the article was the "post a comment" link,
And it didn't work for me either. |

LMAO I think its funny when someone says remember such and such verses when nobody does. Any Christian can recite John 3:16 but not John 3:15 or 3:17. _________________ Hello my name is John Smith.

Too true, too true. Its like they are eating moldy bread, they eat the good parts and pretend the mold part isn't even there... okay, poor analogy, but you get what I mean, yes? They pick and choose the good stuff and not once look at the contradictions and false promises made in the Bible, the part where God tells people to kill people because he hates them (but lets not forget, God is a loving god!), and such.... _________________ "I Cant Pass Up This Opportunity To Make Myself Observed, I Cant Pass Up This Opportunity To Let Myself Be Heard..." - Seether, Out Of My Way

::blank stare::
You don't think it harmful to tell a gay person that they are bad & evil people that need to change immediately?
Or worse, are only befriending a gay person in order to change them?
Here's a quote of my own (which is super cocky! Damn! Yet I am not sorry....):
| Me wrote: | | A hundred years ago, saying a woman or a black person would be able to vote in a hundred years was enough to get you ostracized and maybe even hung for being a sympathizer. A hundred years from now gay men and women will marry as they please in the eyes of the law and it will be looked back on to today as "some over zealous Christians" that held that progress of freedom back in the name of their roses-and-chocolate bearing divine invisible leader, Jesus. |
