Central valley atheists?

So ah... hi. I'm atheist, agnostic, hopefully the standard here. Never belonged to a church, never got indoctrinated or anything, though the mainstream culture of the USA is pretty damned full of indoctrination even outside the steepled halls. I'm one of the "lucky ones" (not really, my parents were also dysfunctional). Looking for atheists in my area because...well...there ain't any. I can't get to Livermore and Modesto is right out. If we ever get a bus system, maybe I'll go to Modesto or Livermore. Was thinking more along the lines the route 26 goes, Tracy, Lathrop, Stockton, Manteca, Lodi... but I can tell you right now, not many people seem to live in this area who have any sort of communication at all with others. Just a bunch of churches and empty houses that commuters live in. Feel free to prove me wrong though! Man, I gotta get out of this hole...

Anyway, I don't believe in anything really. Have a hard time finding life worth living without any sort of magic around... no idea why. Most people get along fine with this universe as is. You'll know if I figure out how to change it though. Mostly I just drift here and there looking for nice people and ways to make life easier. And create stories, if I can handle it. And play with animals!

So, just stopping by here to introduce myself and see if anyone is within meetup distance. With all the megachurches and not-so-mega-yet-still-Baptist churches around here, I think it's important for the churchless to have some way to conspire as well.

there is a website for American atheists which shows all the meet ups in your area, unfortunately i dont know the address but if you hang around here long enough someone will know it and post it here
