Tv discussions like this aren't supposed to enlighten anyone, it's about maximaising the rating. People want to get input like this so they can feel as though they were participating at the public discussion.

The guy is a comedians and he gave his answers. Bill Maher knocks religion all of the time and even made a movie of it. Richard Dawkins when he heard a famous scientist wasn't just a cultural believer, lost all respect for him and publically said so on Bill Maher's show. George Carlin, need I say more? Bill and George were some of my favorite comedians but I don't like everything they think is humorous.
The religious need to learn to laugh at the comments made about them and the atheists do too. Don't like the comment if you must but don't see it as persecution or that they are allowed freedoms atheists aren't allowed. |

Edit - So he is. Well, I take back my comment, unless its like a preacher or leader of an organization or anything like that. The rest of it still holds, about arguing your case, then making fun of people.
Edit - I still find the comment some what bigoted, but any one who is insulted by a comedian is fucking stupid, imo. Its a comedians job to spark emotion, of course they will say radical things.

Another reason he is full of shit is because he said he never even talks to atheist, how can you have an opinion about something and talk about it on national tv and not research it? At least Maher, Carlin and Dawkins actually have discussions with theist.

He wasn't on stage making a joke. It was an interview. So whether he's a doctor, lawyer, or a comedian, it means all the same.

Let them speak their minds. I think we should be above getting offended into legal action and etc. every time someone hurts our feelings. We should argue with him rather than making weak motions about respect and tolerance of all beliefs like a typical cornered theist.
