many of us Atheists were Christians at one time...so we all went through the crap.
However lets say that all the christians say was true and there is one God that would mean there is one Church.
Which Church do you think is the right one.
I think if the myths were a reality it would be the Roman Catholic Church as it was founded by St Peter (St Peters confession of christ).
What church would you back as the true Church. |

You might as well ask if I would prefer the world to be a cube or a plane if it were not a sphere. It's silly to begin with. That said, I think of all the Christian churches I'd go with the anglicans. There's already a running joke on them being areligious and atheistic. If I had to pick any one religion to be right though, I'd go with buddhism, not christianity. (It appeals to my sense of individualism.) _________________ everything is changing

The common fundy theology is that there is one true Church but many different denominations. The Church = "The body of Christ". The Church is supposed to be the nickname for all of the believers in Christ. |

| I don't know a lot of christian denominations, but it wouldn't be any of the "main" ones in my opinion. Assuming any of them would of gotten it right at all. |

I don't see the "argument" at all, much less an interesting one. No offence. _________________ ~I'm waiting for the day when mankind will outgrow religion.

I agree with Abraxus,
cannot see the "argument" or anythong of interest.
I love the assumption that Peter was the first Pope, and that the Catholic Church was founded directly by Christ (Assuming he even existed), that was a hoot.

Abraxus & nogods,
The "argument" is over which church is the one "true" church. It's a common argument amongst believers. It's not a "logical argument", as you were probably thinking. Just thought I would clear that up. When I first read the thread title, I was looking for some sort of ontological proof or something, but quickly remembered that the word "argument" has more than one meaning. _________________ "If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?"

In my book, an "argument" with no basis is not an argument. _________________ ~I'm waiting for the day when mankind will outgrow religion.
