Something I don't get about Naoh's ark: Wouldn't it have taken years upon years for just a handful of people to gather literally tons of wood, build a gargantuan boat, and then round up pairs of every animal and whatever unimaginable amount of food that wouldn't go bad during the trip? That's just basic logic when you think about it. Silly christians. _________________ "If God doesn't like the way I live, let him tell me, not you."-Anonymous

In my upbringing my father told me it toke him i think 200 years and god gave him the time to work on it and he was already 100 years old.
plus there are 10 million species of animals so that 20 million animals on the ark try feeding that many. _________________ "If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed." Albert Einstein

Supposedly it took him something like 100 years. It's still silly, just in a slightly different kind of way. _________________ Namaste,

I dunno, the Noah's Ark varient of the story maybe a little bizarre, but the same myth (in different forms) appears in alot of the older religions such as greek and roman myth, buddhist and hindu mythology even in some new world religions like mayan and inca stories. _________________ Composite things are like dreams. The Rick Copeland is confused. He has no idea why people exclusively focus on Noah's ark while ignoring the absurdity of the Tower of Babel... Will posters please explain to him?... _________________ “I think it’s also important for the President to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

I find it more amazing that people actually give praise to this being even after he killed almost all the people on earth. It would be like praising Hitler... _________________ An artist sees beauty in a painting. I see beauty in a logical proof.

| Rom 8:14-23 NASB wrote: | | What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, |

In fact I don't even know the whole story. _________________ "If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed." Albert Einstein

I can't blame you - it's hard to get through the entire paragraph where it's told...
| Gen 11 NRSV wrote: | | Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. 2And as they migrated from the east,* they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3And they said to one another, ‘Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.’ And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. 4Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.’ 5The Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which mortals had built. 6And the Lord said, ‘Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. 7Come, let us go down, and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.’ 8So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. 9Therefore it was called Babel, because there the Lord confused* the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. |

Look at verse 6:
| Quote: | | 6And the Lord said, ‘Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. |
It doesn't look like he did it for fun: it looks like he was nervous of people becoming God's equals.
