Wow, thanks guys. I hadn't updated this for a while.
I have four major steps left: Rig the cannon doors, detail paint, sails and rigging, and figures. I figure by next summer I will have it finished. I have done a lot more work since the last photos, but it is so slow going you would have to stare to see them.
I also decided to try to finish another wooden ship model my dad gave me so I can give it to him for Christmas. It is a piece of cake after this monster. It has a whopping FOUR cannons and two masts. A few weeks of part time work and I can have it ready.
My plans are to finish out this one and display it or enter it in model competitions and get my name out there. If I get an offer over 50K I will let it go. Even that is under ten dollars an hour. I have a few other models in the works at present stalling my progress. I have three other wooden ships and three more plastic ones. I have a ton of plastic kits stacking up in the basement too. I want to build a scratch kit of the Victory in 1/48 scale with a see through side. That will take about three years. I'm looking forward to fall and having more time to work on them all. I'll update the photos here soon.
If you find a bottle let me know Jutter. hehe _________________ Join http://www.sefora.org/

May may I have it?
Certainly beats my accomplishment this week.---
I taught myself to yodel. (really) I recently saw an interview with one of the Schneider sisters. She explained how. It's' really simple. When you think about it that's not at all surprising.
Next week I'm going to have a go at doing it on key. Keeping time comes much later,if at all..

1,107 hours in. I have been working on a couple other models and took a break since this stage is so monotonous it’s painful. I am finished with the lower shrouds. They take about an hour per pair and there are dozens of them. I’ll be glad to move on. I wove a mouse on a served and wormed rope for the fore stay. It was a lot of work but turned out nice if not a little big. I bought a 1/16 scale model of the main launch and have some nice details to add to my miniature on for the ship. Unfortunately I have to destroy most of the work I already did. I also bought one in 1/17 scale of the armed launch I have under the main door. That will allow me to add some serious detail down the road.
I have a lot more research to do, I realized the way I am having the launch being retrieved that three sails are going to be in the way and I’ll have to learn how to show them pulled back. I wish I could keep the dust off it. I did buy some vacuum attachments that will clean it up nice....the dust really kills the photos.....sigh

Wow, the amount of time and effort you've put into this is pretty damn impressive, are you nearly finished it? _________________ No practical definition of freedom would be complete without the freedom to take the consequences. Indeed, it is the freedom upon which all others are based |

Baddogma,
Have you ever put up any pics of your other hobbies? All of your artifacts - old weapons, new weapons, figurines, and military models... Even your main floor bathroom is a piece of art!!! _________________ With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. I am so fuckin' excited for Halloween at your house!
I told everyone at work that since I have never called in and have covered for all of them at least 10 times each that If someone didn't work Halloween for me I just wasn't coming in... Our boss decided we couldn't request anymore.
I asked for Halloween off my first day there!!!
Fuckers.
I think I'm going to be a character from my favorite book. _________________ With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg |
